This bus was purchased from Wichita metropolitan Transit District. For the Fun Fleet collection to be complete, I had to have a second generation 35-foot series and this bus fit the bill. I drove it back to California. The bus later had a transmission problem, but I changed it and ran it in the collection for many years.

Fun Fleet bus #6709 was sold for scrap.

This bus was a second-generation series but these was an update in 1967. GM was about to introduce the 8V71 Detroit Diesel for fishbowls. They had to modify the power plant by lowering it several inches. This was done on all models, including the 35-foot buses. In addition, the bumpers were redesigned whereas the front and rear were the same. All buses produced after that were modified and this one was an example of that change.
